I joined San Jose Fit in 2015 to get in better shape and burn off the stress of work and commuting. Then I learned that huffing and puffing along a trail with others can be FUN. I met some characters. I learned about pacing myself. I made friends for life.
Fit's walk-run method allowed me to push myself while staying safe and feeling good. Thanks to the coaches and other runners, I have done seven half marathons since that first year. But the bigger prize has been the simpler joys: exploring the city and countryside on foot, watching the seasons, spending time with nature, being part of a community, and growing from the challenges we set for ourselves.
